Holidays at Arlington Life Shelter - 2013
Our volunteers are true gems! For our volunteers who have
asked how they can continue to accomplish extraordinary things through their service, we offer the following solutions.
Q. Do you have an End of Year fundraising event?
A. Yes, we would love you to join us for our annual Home for the Holidays gala, where you can celebrate the holiday season knowing that you are providing warm beds, full tummies and hot cocoa for homeless children and families right here! Festivities to include dinner, music, silent auction, children's choir and inspiration.
Q. What does the shelter need?
A. Financial support and gift cards to Walmart, Lowe’s and Home Depot assist us in meeting the everyday needs of the homeless, providing everything from shoes and job search support to hot showers.
Q: How can I adopt a family or provide gifts for the residents?
A. We invite you to help residents celebrate the holidays by providing gifts that can continue to help our homeless families and individuals through the holidays and the rest of the year. Please consider giving a care package, such as the ones shown below, or seen here, or shop online at our Amazon Wishlist.
Q. When can I deliver my gifts?
A. Mondays through Fridays, 9am to 4pm, please deliver to the Administrative Entrance, which faces Division Street. If you are coming on a Saturday or Sunday you may deliver after 5pm to the Resident Entrance, which faces NL Robinson Street. View Map
Q. How can I volunteer for the holidays?
A. Complete a volunteer application and you will be contacted about holiday opportunities.
Q. How can I sign up to serve Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner?
A. Thank you, but other gracious volunteers have already filled all our needs for serving meals over the holidays. However, Mission Arlington needs assistance delivering Thanksgiving meals, and can be reached at (817) 277-6620.
Q. How can I sign up to provide a party or activity for the residents?
A. December is a very busy time for the residents, limiting the number of openings for parties. We encourage you to shop for a care package shown below and we’ll provide a tour and take a picture when you drop it off. Don't have time to shop? No problem - online shopping on our Amazon Wishlist is a fast and convenient way to give.
Q. I still have questions. Who can I contact?
Thank you for bringing holiday cheer to those challenged by homelessness this holiday season!
