Programs & Services - Overview

Homeless men, women and children can receive up to 72 hours of emergency shelter or enter the structured nine-week rehabilitative program to work toward self-sufficiency. Job placement and retention are the focus of the agency’s structured program, supported by case management, counseling, mental health and substance abuse services, educational classes, transitional housing and children’s therapeutic programming.

Services

Basic Needs: Shelter, meals and support are provided to homeless men, women and children through a 72-hour emergency stay or a structured nine-week program designed to return them to self-sufficiency.

Children’s Services: Infant, children and teens receive comprehensive services in a safe, friendly environment to help them develop the skills and resiliency needed to live in their unpredictable, uncontrollable world.

Education Services: Educational classes for adults are provided on-site at the shelter and include topics such as financial management, interpersonal communication, personal health, parenting and computer skills.  Children receive computer instruction and tutoring daily.

Employment Placement and Coaching: Individualized job placement and coaching services ensure that residents meet the requirement of being employed within four weeks of beginning the program.

Mental Health Services: Residents with major mental health issues are linked with a psychiatrist in Fort Worth via secure computer lines and provided prescribed medication, enabling them to work within four weeks of beginning the program. An onsite psychiatric nurse monitors their progress and a licensed counselor is available to provide individual, family and group counseling services for adults and children.

Social Work Services: Comprehensive social work services help clients identify and overcome barriers to self-sufficiency.

Transitional Housing Program: Individuals and families qualifying for the Transitional Housing Program can receive rent assistance and continued case management for up to two years.
